The ThermoTec foil topped butyl liner I just installed on the floorboard is very thin material. Anyone using some old school padding between that kind of "insulation" and the carpet? Thank you.

I bought a different kind for the 72 charger build. It's tin on both sides and a thin layer of the jute in the middle it was about $80 a roll I bought two looks like just enough to do everything in the charger not sure how it works but I had it laying in the car and was welding under neath pan was hot as hell in the top of this stuff it was cool as can be

What does one do about covering or not covering the rubber drain plugs with the Dynomat like products? Punch a hole to let the air out? Cut around them? Go over them and don't worry about it?

When considering Dynomat keep in mind it does not need to completely cover the entire surface of the floor (etc.) to be effective at sound deadening. For the floorboards I would simply use a floormat sized (or smaller) piece on both the front and rear footwell areas.
Just my 2 bits.

I cut out around the plugs so I could remove them if needed. As mentioned it does not have to cover every inch although I wanted more coverage myself.

Agree full coverage not needed but have dronemasters...

My new carpet came with jute pad glued to the back and I installed over dynamat which covered the drain plugs.

Cut an X in the dyna mat threw the center of plug so air can get out.
