Are the 741 pumpkin and gears in taper axle same as later 741 units?

I have the taper axle assembly out of the '64 Dodge rolling around in the way here on the floor. Drums, brake shoes, wheel cylinders and all spring hardware have maybe 200 miles on them. I know that nobody would ever buy the complete assembly, nor use it, but I'm considering tearing it down for the backing plates, shoes, drums to sell and the open pumpkin, if the 3.23 gears can be used in a later suregrip 741, for a gear swap in the Bee from it's 2.94's.

Do not turn this into a sale thread.. please.. all I want here is whether or not the gear set in the open 741 from the taper axle assembly are usable in a newer '66/67 suregrip 741 unit.

Thanks!

I believe all 741 gear sets are the same.

More info, not what you asked: the open differential from a 1964 and older tapered axle will not swap into a 1965 and newer flanged axle, the center block is 1.25" on 1964 and back, and 1.5" in 1965 and up.

Yes, just slap in a suregrip carrier and you're off to the races.
