I just got a text from my wife that she got the trunk key stuck in the ignition lock cylinder. My first thought was : what is she doing in my car?!?! Turns out my son wanted to take his bike to the farm and he could access it without moving the car so he begged and pleaded to Mom. This is a recent purchase, and she had not driven it previously, also it's her 1st Mopar, so I will pass it as an honest mistake. The problem is that she could not remove the key from the ign lock cylinder. Any help would be appreciated. I'm wondering if I will need to pick up parts on my home.

bring some graphite spray home with you.shoot a bunch of that in there and giggle the key as much as you can while pulling out and pushing in and you may get lucky.

....could be a pickle sir, but like any mechanism, a bit of graphite and up and down side to side action. I would also take a small screwgie and see if you can get the teeth to retract a bit to get it out.

Don't you have to use a hammer to get the trunk key into the ignition slot?

Maybe you'll get lucky in that she's just not pulling hard enough to get it back out. A pair of pliers and you'll have it out quick. Good luck!

Some Graphite and a pair of pliers did the trick and everything seems hunky dory. Thanks guys
