This used part is off a 413cu 60' Imperial. Do you think it would work for a 67' 440 B body ? Does it look complete ? I don't see how it would attach to the carburetor end. What about these cable retro fit kits ?

Thanks

We need a picture of the part before we can answer that. I have adapted kickdown linkages from pre 65 Chryslers to work on later model 68 and newer cars. The slot on the linkage fits around the carb throttle cable hook up stud that sticks out sideways from the carb linkage. Maybe someone could post a picture of the set up. It's also possible to find a pic online.

Wow.... that linkage looks similar to a 70+ 4spd locking linkage. Garys1969RR may have some experience with this, but it doesn't look like any kick-down linkage I've ever seen. There isn't the "slot" that Gary talks about.

Looks like a 'no' to me.Sorry

I'm not really in to aftermarket cable kits(?). I still all have my oem. Sorry(lol). They just don't "trip my trigger". One of these days may have to go that way. Old school-mechanical is my way.

This is before I swapped to the RPM Performer.

I have a latter model linkage set up, from the seventies. Is this what you used ? I have been told it might not fit. For now, there is a small block in the car, and the 440 is on a stand.

Now is the time to set up what your going to use. I
would think you have a BB trans? That pictured setup isn't worth the trouble if it would work at all. Either find a stock setup or a cable. Put the trans and engine together before it goes in the car. Then mock it up so it works like it's in the car. Go to MyMopar website and download a service manual so you can adjust the throttle pressure control linkage(kick down linkage) right.

Late model linkage from what engine/carburetor/transmission?
Bits and pieces may be interchangeable but full linkages, more often than not, are not. (unless, of course, they're from the same engine/carburetor/transmission combination)

This linkage assembly came off a seventies big block, what model I don't know. I agree to a mock up with the engine and trans out of the car. That would give me some idea. But until it's in the car I won't know. I see assemblies for sale from time to time, just not at a price I'm willing to pay. This engine swap is way down the road at this point. But it don't hurt to scrounge parts now.

Thanks !

While we are on ghis subject, I have had a question for some time.....

Why did Mopar go from the single piece throttle kickdown to the multiple piece unit? My 62 318 has a single bent rod from carb to accelerator arm on trans. The Max wedge cars has single rod units as well.

Unless physically impossible for some reason, I plan on making my own from 5/16" rod and connection pieces I have in my parts box. Any reason this wouldn't work? Heck of a lot cheaper than the $350 repop sets.

Maybe for mechanical advantage, or clearance issues.

Probably clearance or to use on several different models?

Same engine as far as I know. I worked on these cars in the seventies, so in my minds eye, it's original, just for a later model than a 67'. Thanks...

Well, my linkage was from the o.e. 383-4bbl auto and now works on a 440 WITH adjustments.

Those one-piece setups just make me cringe for some reason.
