I have a 64 Fury, all new 4 wheel power drum brakes, 65 drums (kept tapered axles), 10x2.5 pads.

Drums and pads keep glazing. Pull them, sand, work great for 3-4 weeks, repeat.

Does anyone know if these pads will fit a 64?

Whether you click Charger or Satellite the part numbers are the same.

They are GOING to be a problem -- this new brake friction material is GARBAGE..... The asbestos laws have unfortunately made it where this is all the new world of brakes is allowed to manufacture....
The only true smooooothest braking surface is
N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++....
Fortunately, I have some N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ and
reside in West Hempstead, Long Island, New York.

I'd say your best bet is to call them and ask, eh? They use a ceramic, semi-metallic compound (like most modern disc brakes do) that's going to be very aggressive.
By the way, if you have four wheel drum brakes, there's not a brake "pad" anywhere on your car - them thar is shoes.
I do know at least one member is using MPB brakes on their car (I want to say @Dennis H maybe?) and if I recall, they love 'em.

Brings to mind a question I've had for a while now.
I'm dealing with a fading memory system onboard of me here, but ...
for some reason, I remember the original shoes being the darker gray color and in subsequent years, as the asbestos laws came on board, replacement shoes being that much lighter tan color.
Am I remembering that right or am I ***-backwards on that?
 
thinking bass ackward there...newer composites utilized graphite in the compound...thus the darker color....
 
Yes, I know they're shoes, long day and so used to saying pads.

I will definitely call them, but it always helps to find someone who's had direct experience using 65-70 shoes on a 62-64.

Anyone have a good pic of a 65-70 brake shoe?

For the most part I used 1970 Dodge E body when ordering brake parts. Just include the drum dia and width. Makes it easy on the counter guy to look up. The relined shoes can be done wrong like having the wrong lenth lining on the wrong shoe or spring hole location but that's the fault of the company's employees that don't know the difference.

There are suttle differences on newer year vehicles but nothing that can't be delt with when useing them for the older car. One thing being the E brake leaver hole. They went to a slotted hole on the newer shoe opposed to the round hole in the older shoe. But the older leaver can still work. (See rant thread in my build thread). In my thread someone mentions "brakes in a box" Don't know if that's the same as your link. I bought mine from NAPA and they seem to be doing fine. I ended up useing a older set of replacement shoes on the front, looks like
asbestos, being a tan color. All of the different types of hardware can work on the older brakes also as long as they are complete sets. I changed mine to the self adjusting.

Just remember the more aggressive lining will be like the disc brakes of today. They will be harder on the drums just like the newer pads are on rotors. Now days they will normally change pads and rotors at the same time when doing a brake job on the new cars. Rotors have gotten cheaper to replace for just this reason.

I don't know why your shoes are glazing unless you're being too aggressive with the shoe break-in or there is oil/grease contamination in the drums that keep cooking out with heat. Maybe just crap lining?

Anyway hope you get something out of all my ramblings.
 
Muscle Car Brakes has a "brakes in a box" kit that includes all the hardware.

I wasn't aggressive with the brake in, cleaned new drums well, probably crap linings which is why I was looking at the MCB which are ceramic, and easy to source new.

I remember reading the brake part the first time thru.

I have a theory that if you have asbestos originals on the front and new shoes on the back you're only stopping the car with the front brakes.

The reason I say this is I pulled the front and sanded them and it stops way better, but not as good as when new, so my rears are still poor.

I wonder how many people have disc on the front, and no idea the rear drums aren't working at all!

If anyone has a pic of 65-70 shoes that would be great.
 
As one of the threads answered talks about the slotted to hold vs. the early round hole -- the later can be used -- but it is sloppy unless you "washer it up "
(Which is also sloppy.)
In N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ I have both at this moment in time, and at FAR LESS $$$$$, to boot!!!!!!
 
Hint! Hint! I think mobileparts is trying to give you the brake shoe option that you need if you are going to stay with drum brakes. Unless this is a survivor of sorts go disc and stop having these problems. They can always be converted back to stock if necessary.
 
Thank you for your kind comments -- and, yes, I do go out of my way to hunt down the ++ N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ such that we all do have nice smooooooth braking on our rides.....
If you were at the just recently completed Chryslers @ Carlisle -- you saw a lot of that ++ N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ on virtually all of my counters --- and I did sell quite a bit this year, more than the average!!!!
But, I still have a handful more that do the 1962 - 1964 10" x 2 1/2" application ; Fronts & Rears.....
