Whats a good cost effective way to freshen up a set of 452's? My nephew is giving me a pair this summer and he said they already have over sized valves and HD springs. Im just thinking they may need cleaned real good and bolted on.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rich

If the guides and seats are in good condition you can get some valve grinding compound and lap the valves in. You can have the springs tested to make sure they are good for whatever cam you will run. I would have them checked for cracks since it does not cost much and also checked to make sure they are not warped on the deck surface.

Thanks, Rusty! how much approx would that cost a good ol' boy?

I don't really know. Machine work varies from place to place. I have all the stuff here to check for cracks and check valve springs myself, so for me it's free. lol
