Has anyone made a custom dash or at least gauge bezel for the 68' style charger? Im looking to replace at some point the original bezel with the sheet metal look. Im not sure 100% what I want to do so looking for ideas. Thanks

I actually don't know if I like that... looks almost too "importish" for my tastes.

In my RR I just added the tri guage pod from Autometer but drilled out the guage pod holes to match up with the factory ashtray holes so I could use those screws without having to drill into the dash at all. (only dumbass mistake I made was buying mechanical gauges too early before realizing I was going to re-wire my whole car and could have put new electric gauges there)

There's a couple thread's on here where people posted pics of their custom dashed and I know 747 has pics of his in his build thread

had a 68 sorry no pics ...always thought the gauges were to small so I cut the bezel but left the speedo and tack and replaced the gauges with aftermarket ones and moved the two switches ..just used a piece of black plastic and scribed lines in it painted over it and it came out pretty good

I actually really like that idea to replace the ash try with gauges that's great use of a useless tray. Has anyone used a small LED that they really like?

I like the look of these I found on ebay but I don't want a washed out light look. Also looking for a good start button but not the traditional rubber button. What amp should I be looking for for that?

Ever thought about wood, this is what I did to my 69 Charger dash. All Auto Meter gauges and everything south of the dash pad is all new sheet metal.DSCN7416.jpg

The gauge cluster reminds me of the late 70's Chevy truck dash. I like that look, looks like a cockpit. What led's did you use between your speedo and tach, are they nice and bright?

I actually really like that ash tray idea. Going to figure out a nice way to work a 2 1/16 gauge into that spot for a trans temp gauge.

They are the Painless wiring ones that Summit sells and are plenty bright (high beam, turn signals). The other set of controls are for the Vintage Air system. I see what your saying about the Chevy truck "they did have that kind of layout".
