In the garage. Under the hood. Again.
I know Rich C. usually does these, but this one is not humorous. Dick Trickle died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound earlier today. He had called a 911 operator and informed that person that they should send officers to a Charlotte,N.C. cemetery where they would find his body. I don't know what demons haunted him,but as someone who has dealt with serious issues that sometimes led to some bad thoughts,I can only hope that he is free of them now. I met him back in 1976 when he was racing Yamaha snowmobiles-and was quite successful at it. One of the good guys. Rest In Peace,Mr. T.

Wow, that is some sad news. Watched a lot of NASCAR races that he drove in. He had a style all his own. RIP Dick.

Yep watched him on the sleds in 76 and 77 seasons along with the roundy round at WIR in Kaukauna before he hit the big time.Originally from Wisconsin Rapids WI he was sorta a legend in these parts.Did some curb and gutter in front of his shop years ago in Rapids and there was some pretty cool stuff laying around there.
RIP Dick

Rest in Peace Dick Trickle. I've always been a big fan. He was a racers racer.

Dick was a successful snowmobile racer for Yamaha back in the 70's. His career ended when his teammate Jim Adema was killed in Ironwood Wi.

I hope someday we find out why he took his own life... It's so sad

Dick.... WTF man? We all saw you running around here and were still fans to this day. We never saw this comin' thats for sure.

Very similar story to Ronnie Montrose. Man, that's sad to hear. RIP Mr. T.

I still proudly wear my Helig-Meyers Thunderbird, Dick Trickle Nascar shirt. RIP White Night.

Apparently he had been having problems after his granddaughter was killed in an auto accident. Unless you know someone with depression it is hard to understand. It's not just something you can shake off and get better. He was quite the character. RIP Dick.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Trickle, you will be missed....
