Did anyone see the Mecum auction over the past weekend?

Same here!

XS10 !!

I would love to see value/prices of our cars drop into the ditch for a while. they have brought such insane money over the years , its time for them to drop off. maybe then I would be able to afford to really play again LOL

I'm thrilled to see Camaros and Mustangs driving the market now. More power to them! The more money they suck out of the market, the lower the prices for Mopars will go. That sucks for the guys who bought their cars at the top of the mark, but it's great news for newcomers to the scene or those who are looking to buy cars in the future.

Seriously, the whole restomod/pro-touring/Camaro/mustang thing is for the birds and has gotten absolutely insane with the money they're bringing.

My guess would be a bunch of guys in the middle of a mid-life crisis overpaying for the first thing that pops into their head when they think "muscle car."

This may come as a shock to a few of the Mopar fans here but we are significantly out numbered by Chevrolet and Ford fans. The more buyers there are, the higher the prices go. That's how auctions are supposed to work.

Bingo, they were sold in much higher numbers {probably 10-1 to Mopar's} & were all popular when they were new, they are still popular today, such is life...

Of course popularity translates to price, but personally if I had that kind of money there would be a lot of things I'd rather spend it on than a Camaro. Seems ridiculous to me, but to each his own.

And I agree with Bruce on the price of mopars, hopefully they'll start to be a little more accessible.

Yeah I'd rather have a Mopar of the same year too, but I like the Pro-touring & Resto-Mod thing, not every car needs to be 100% OEM restoration, I've done that & we have an abundance of them already, I really like to see the personal touches, when done tastefully... I'm an old drag racer, a big fan of the day 2 type cars, unless they are ultra rare... but I'm certainly not a big fan of wheels over 17" thou... I'm not a hatter of Mustang's & Camaro's either, just see to damn many of them, ridiculously high priced, Jafma & Jafmo... we are just out numbered... that's my $0.02 cents

Oh definitely, I didn't mean anything against protouring cars or restomods, (my charger is one lol) different personal touches are what make cars cool to me :icon_thumleft: I was directing it more at the "cookie cutter" camaros/mustangs. I don't hate either car, they're just everywhere like you said.

Personally I like being the rare Mopar fan. Kind of puts us in an elite class.

I personally believe the mass "sheeple" are not informed enough to understand the rarity and unique qualities of the MOPAR automobiles. They are mis-informed, comparing Chevies VS Fords.
Not considering the AMCs and MOPARS.
They just "dont know"
Therefore they are blinded by the "glitz and glamour" of the Camaro, Chevelle, Nova etc.
The true enthusiast knows the difference.
MOPARS are more rare...in my book, the ultimate muscle car.
Dominated:
1. NHRA
2. Nascar
3. AHRA
Sheeple do not know this.
Period!

I think we should all build Camaros & Mustangs. But we power them all with a true blue Mopar slant 6 & hit every car show possible, just to piss people off. Plus it wouldnt hurt to put on one of those giant gaudy rear wings just to bring a little extra attention to them.

Can't be any worse than what the dumb@$$ kids of my generation are already doing..

Hmm, I've yet to see the glitz and glamour of a Nova. :)

Just did a 500 mile road trip in the 69. Accolades abound. New Stang owners, Fiat owners etc. Big Block Mopars are appreciated because they are NOT STANGS OR CAMAROS. We are in an exclusive club. We drive Legends. God Bless Ma Mopar and John Herlitz. Visionaries.

And furthermore, go to Pamona to the drag race museum. EVERY record except on is held by a Hemi. Makes you smile.
