I know my '65 Plymouth Valiant and '65 Plymouth Barracuda had the ball & trunnion u-joint from the factory (now converted to slip spline). What did the factory 413/426 Max Wedge cars use for u-joints/driveshaft? Thank you.

My 63 Sport Fury convertible max wedge used ball and trunnion, I think it was destroyed in the wild fires in Napa Vally last week, still waiting to find out.

Oh, no! Please let us know what happened to your car in Napa, this could be a very sad story, or perhaps a time for jubilation (if it was spared). Was the Max Wedge available from the factory in a convertible model or was this a transplant? Thank you.

a fellow down the road from me had a real '63 fury convertible max wedge. I was told only 3 were built. his kid accidentally set the garage on fire and burnt everything to the ground, including the '63.

Yes they only built like 12 real max wedge Sport Fury converts in 63! I sold it in 02 and heard it was possibly lost in the fires in Napa on this site!

According to the Darrell Davis 1963 Plymouth Super Stock Guide ,They made a Total of 35 1963 Plymouth sport Fury Convertibles with the Max Wedge .20 Automatic Trans 15 T-85 Sticks .

63 and 64 used ball and trunion. Your 65 should have had the more-desirable slip in yoke.

Wow. That surprises me. I've only dealt with big block and Poly. I have no small block experience. To the best of my knowledge, B, RB, and Poly with a 727 all came with ball and trunion in 63 and 64.

OK 15 3 speed stick 426 Sport Fury converts, I just hope mine wasn't destroyed in the fires, There were only four accounted for by Galen Govier.

Yes I saw that and asked if his was a real one and the description of my old car but as of now still no answere. I can understand he has much more to worry about!

the '63 I referred to was an automatic bench seat fury; not a sport fury.

According to the same Darrell Davis book they made only 7 63 Fury Max Wedge Convertibles 4 Automatics and 3 stick shifts .so that was a real Loss losing 1 of 7 do you remember if it was a Automatic or stick? I currently own a 63 Sport Fury Convertible Black car ,red/White interior ,T-85 Stick Trans ,Radio and Heater Delete ,Hi Compression car .been following these cars for years .
