When installing third member, is there a preferred gasket to use? And do you put gasket sealer on both sides of the gasket?

Time to introduce you to the greatest RTV made. This is all you need. No gasket required. Follow directions. Keep unused tube in a Ziploc in your refrigerator.

I am going to try a Lubelocker gasket I bought with my third member from Quick Performance, goes on dry but has bead on both sides.

Oh boy….. toyota on my Mopar…… I don’t know….

I use the Felpro from an auto store, with a small line of silicone. Would think that there should be something there for correct axle alignment. Though I know that alot of people just use straight silicone.

I was thinking permatex ultra grey, then paper gasket, and then light film of the grey on the opposite side

I wouldn't use ultra grey unless your selling it and it will be someone else's problem

I agree!

20, 30 thousandths of an inch?? I'll bet most housings are bent WAY more than that.

No plans to ever take it apart again and I hate leaks. Stock paper gasket and Aviation Gasket sealer on both sides.

I have to agree with #12, but you have to start somewhere. A few cents here, and a few cents there, and the next thing you know you are at $1.00. Having had an airplane, yes, the formagasket is good stuff, I have some around here somewhere, not sure why I stopped using it.
