That is the STUPIDEST show I have ever seen. I watched a few episodes just to see what it was all about. No real storyline, theme, or sense to be made of it. You have to be brain dead to follow it which says a lot for the TV watching in America as it seems to be popular enough to have made it a second season.

I love a good train wreck and Duck Dynasty is a pretty good one! No thinking involved/required and no story line just some good laughs at stupididty, usually at Si's expence! lol

Watched a few of the episodes and never got into them. Don't watch the 20 something drinking, partying shows either. They got too many reality shows on now. I think last count was over 100 or so. The wife watches The Amazing Race and Survivor and i'll watch them occasionally, but i'm more into Supernatural, The Incredible Dr. Pol.

:iamwithstupid: I've watched a few episodes... Last one I saw was when they were drag racing limo's with Clint Bowyer... It's OK, I can tolerate it, but I'm not a regular viewer either... I watch allot of News, NBCSportsnet, ESPN 1 & 2, Golf Channel, Discovery, History Channel 1 & 2, Out-Door Channel, Wild, Animal, Speed Channel, Velocity {part of Discovery Networks}, National Geographic 1 & 2 channels type stuff, not very much regular Network TV at all & yes some are total freaken' nonsense, some are actually pretty good shows too, some shows you can also actually learn something from too.... IMHFO anything is better than all the petty bickering/arguing crap &/or drunken entitlement mentality/X-Generation, American Idol, Glee, X-Factor, X-Housewife & fake or gay, scripted Reality Shows... Or yet another one of those self serving narcissistic Celebrity Awards Shows, that seem to be on every week now, type of crap, that's all over the TV Networks nowadays... I consider D/D far better, than just another one of the way too many Cops & Lawyer shows, showing the all that damn violence, blood & guts, glorifying gang members, killing, shooting, stabbings & minorities taking advantage of the system, murder, rape, courts proceedings & divorce/infidelity, corrupting our youth crap or seeing all the other many dredges of life on Network TV... Sometimes it's nice to just be simply entertained, with out having to think about anything & have a laugh at someone else's expense, making a damn fool of themselves... But I also like Ax Men, Swamp People, Wild West Alaska, My Big Redneck Vaction, Jay Leno, Red Eye, The 5 {I have a thing for Dana Perino}, Pass Time, The American's, The Big Bang Theory or Two & a Half Men also, so I don't know what that says about me either & I really don't care... The show is a freaking riot. I hadnt watched it before and was hesitant as ... well lest face it honey boo boo **** is on...

SO I watched a few of the 2012 episode leading up to the new season and now I am hooked. Si ( vietnam Vet 24 yrs in the army)
is about the funniest guy on the planet. The guys are rednecks and loving life and having a blast and I would love to try some of Miss Kays cooking. Instead of screaming at each other and making pretend hate its all famikly and fun and some lifes lessons at the end...LOL

All you have to do is watch them try and get the wild honey and thats it. I havent laughed this hard in a long long time or the dude getting hosed by the skunk at the shop while the women are stranded on the manlift... These guys are the 5 stooges.. has me rolling.
Not everyone appreciates the same humor.... but if you dont like this show there is something wrong with you....LOL just kidding

I love swamp men and axe people too.. this show is all humor without stupid screaming at each other drama.. Craig gets old with me and Jimmy Smith rest in peace had issues as well as his son.

Swamp men dont have the drama so much and I like is a lot as well but again .. whats the location Louisianna.. same as Duck Dynasty.. good people down there.. and food and I spent a little time there and had a blast so maybe I'm biased ...LOL

Every time I watch it I laugh my azz off. I have my kids watching and now after she finally sat and watched it this week my wife is watching.

And at the end of every episode it ends with the whole family together thanking God for all they have.

How many shows do that anymore?

WANNA WATCH SOMETHING GOOD AND SOMEWHAT EDUCATIONAL ? go watch investigation discovery or the Military channel or the History channel where ya might actually learn something instead of moonshine morons...or that show where they grow weed....or any of that other mindless zombie television. i cant beleiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee they actually put ILLEGAL stuff on tv......making moonshine or growing weed is illegal...but there it is...right in front of your face for the world to see how its done so other idiots can do it too .AMAZING.

how many of you guys seen that commercial where the 2 girls are behind a clothes store counter? one girl says "thats so gay"..and the patron starts telling them not to say that. then the narrator of the commercial says to "KNOCK IT OFF " now i have the tv telling me what i can and cant say ? im ready to throw that tv right out of my 2nd story window!

To each their own. Simple as that but honestly if you have a problem with the 5 stooges I really think the problem lies within yourself.
These guys are family working with family and enjoying it and life. And isn't that what life should be all about? They make duck calls and turned it into a multi million dollar operation and stay true to their upbringing and respect their dad. What more can you ask for. Its more like the Waltons meet the 3 stooges.

Guess what history channel hosts some of those shows. I agree there is an abundance of reality based programs and not all of them are good. You cant live in the past forever and history is just that.. the past. We learn from it and study it to not make the same mistakes hopefully. But people want to see how others live now-a-days and be entertained and distracted from the daily grind and that is exactly what those shows are made for. Like I said i don't like them all but its entertainment for more than just me.

perhaps i differ from the rest of the country due to my insatiable thirst for knowledge and eagerness to learn things that i dont know about. if this stuff works for you....KUDOS TO YA...if im going to waste any of my time staring at a box , be it this computer , or the TV ...id like to get something out of it....and the way i see things....if i get something out of it, then im not wasting my time !

...and yes.. i do know that the History Channel carries some of this crap and conforms to the masses like everyone else does. i guess catering to mindless zombies is what it takes to stay in business these days ! thanx for ya time!

Yep its all about money and has been for a very long long time. Where have you been?
Like I said to each their own.. I consider it harmless and a good laugh mixed with family love which I personally believe this country could use a whole lot more of.

Pick up a book and turn the tube off.. you learn a lot more that way

My parents are hardcore duck hunters and my brother and I used to go all the time, but now only a few times a year. My dad is really into duck calls and says those guys had a dynasty with the calls they make and were already millionaires long before the show. I tried to watch it so I could have something to talk to my dad about, but I could only stand half an episode. Not good for my tv taste. I enjoy watching many other things on history and discovery channel though and am hooked on American Pickers. We should start one called Mopar Pick and Pull!

I try to read a lot too. Usually I am reading two mopar magazines, one non-fiction book related to history, and one fiction book. Oh and my wife subscribes to Discover magazine, which is science related and we read things usually 6 months before it hits TV. Discover is an awesome publication. There is so much I still want to read!
