ENOUGH with the HURRICANES! Zeta's path right at my house (again!)

Roadrunner moved successfully to safe indoor location.
Bonus is lift time Saturday afternoon w/my buddy. I can finally get under the RR and see what things look like, and check the hydraulic throwout bearing and clutch functions.

Too bad you couldn't send the rain to San Francisco. There are a lot of losers, hippies and homeless that could benefit from a strong rinse cycle.

As of the 10pm forecast, I may be able to post some "calm in the eye of the storm" videos...
Betsy was like that. It's really weird! The absolute worst part of the storm, then the eye w/practically zero wind, them BAM! the other side of the eye wall.
This is a weak and fast moving hurricane, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Katrina was a long lasting ROARING bitch! ROARING and the flooding was EPIC biblical, and unfortunately VERY LETHAL!
My brother in law told my wife low tide coincides with landfall...I'll have to see about that. That would be good news though! At least my Roadrunner is safe!
:thumbsup: :bananadance::confederateflag::lol:

Fast moving is good, hitting at low tide is better.... Hopefully everyone stays safe....

Never been in a Hurricane.... But I've been through a few Typhoons... Super Typhoon Pamela was kinda like Katrina... Except there is no running away when you live on an island...
It took eighteen hours to grind its way over the island, sustained wind speeds between 120-150 mph, over thirty inches of rain, the eye was over twenty miles across & took about three hours to pass over the island.... Luckily Guam is above sea level so most of the flooding was gone within a couple days..

Well Zeta sure went from a whimper to a ROAR! Now approaching CAT 3 winds!
It's been pretty light all day, but now at 3:40pm it's raining constantly and pretty windy. THE BEST NEWS is wind direction is NOT blowing water up into the Lake, and the road that can flood just from sustained everyday winds out of the southeast is clear, the ditches are empty, and the water is down, so I don't anticipate my property (yard) flooding.
As long as no trees fall in bad places, I think I'll be OK. Power still on, but portable generators are staged.
Anyway, thanks for the concerns and well wishes.
By 7pm central time, I'll be in the TEETH of it, 100 mph winds!

I think me shooting some "inside the eye videos" are likely, but I won't know for about 2 hours.
You can see it in this radar shot, and the motion has it passing over me.

Dude? That sucks!
Stay safe!

You would think enough is enough already, Be careful out there!!

Ike was a bastard....45 minute long eye and that's long! Stayed and once in the middle of it, I had second thoughts but it was too late to leave. Hate this crap. Even though the prediction says it's not coming here, I stay prepared. My bedroom window is still boarded up since there's a hedge row in front of it and my insurance company is bitching at me for it. Told them as long as hurricanes are still coming into the Gulf, the boards are staying up unless their inspectors want to come out and take them down and put it all back up every time a damn storm enters the Gulf. Morons.
