ENOUGH with the HURRICANES! Zeta's path right at my house (again!)

I have a fiberglass canoe that was tilted open side down and on a concrete paver slab...It got blown out into the grass in the yard, but I don't think it's going anywhere and I'm not going out in this to get it.
I'm in the worst of it now. Eye of the storm video coming soon.
North eye wall is the worst. I'm where the arrow points to the red on the map:"You are Here Now" lol.

The white part is the eye of Zeta..to my south.
This is what it's like:

Stay safe Bio! Looks like "a little moisture"!!!.

This was my first video I shot today:

and the second one is the piece of the eye that passed:

In about 10 minutes, it went from the "Northern Eye" video I previously posted (worst wind) to the eye (no wind), and now the wind is howling again, but not as bad as the Northern Eye Wall...

Darn!!
We were doing well and still are overall, but the power is out.
I guess the 180° change in wind direction blew something in the opposite direction and "poof".

Move to the Midwest, all we have is tornadoes. At least not as often!! Heck with KK, he's too close to the East Coast; more ice and weird views! Gotta call it like it is,lol KK.

Save your battery!
If the power is still out in the morning, I'll fire up the 7KW generator.
I have battery storage devices specifically for cell phones too.
Thank you for the advice though, I appreciate it!

Join the club. Mine just came back on about 6 tonight. Been out a couple days. Still have no internet Thank God for mobile phones.

Yeah, I'd say another 35-45 minutes if the power would have stayed on we would have been all clear. That's about how long the wind blew after the eye passed.
Maxwell Smart...

I'm glad you lived to tell the tale.
I have a heart for all of my forum family, and I am far from the kindest or most generous of them.
I found during Katrina that if I document, and in this case share, what I'm going through it's very therapeutic.
No one send me a bill please!
:luvplace:

I managed to fall asleep, but SWMBO couldn't, so she decreed from on high that the generator and all of the power cords must be up and running..so she could watch TV
Well, so much for sleep.
It's all done, and I got a fan out of the deal. I also went ahead and plugged in the refrigerators and freezers, since I'd be doing that in the morning anyway.

I did some research after hearing about powering homes with portable generators. Look into getting a manual transfer switch installed.

The small house that is 2½ blocks off the beach in Waveland MS was in the sheetrock stage. Fortunately no damage to the metal roof, or other house structure. Trees and other stuff is going to require cleanup, so I'll be busy for a while.
VERIZON is worth the cost if staying in touch is important. Other phone services not working so well. I switched to Verizon post Katrina, as Verizon service and Sprint "push to talk" repeater service was the last available.
If any of you are in a bind to communicate and you have OnStar, you may want to activate the service for a month if you lose landlines and cellular. OnStar uses satellite, so it should work providing you are trying to reach someone who has service.
There are so many places with damaged power lines it's going to be some days I expect before power is restored.
Crazy that I had power thru the worst part, the Northern Eye Wall, but the back side and 180° change of wind direction after the eye passed had to have done tremendous damage because that's when the power went out. Seeing the damage today, I'm surprised we had power as long as we did!

Hey we've had more than a couple hit the east coast, come right up the Chesapeake Bay and into our area. Even spawned a few tornados. I'd have to research which one it was anymore but we were out of power for over a week one time. By day four I was starting to stink and decided to get a motel room for one night. Well they were all sold out, people having the same idea that I was.

@biomedtechguy glad all is good with you and yours. A little cleanup and you'll be good to go. Hopefully anything else this year will fizzle out. I'm dreading the thought about this winter with the low temps and snow.

Great you came thru it as well as you did...

clean up time now  have fun
