I don't have to imagine it, We live in it!!!!!
What blows me away is how a Chevron /Standard Oil station will charge as much as $1.00 per gallon MORE than the independent station on the opposite corner and people are ******* stupid enough to pay it instead of driving across the street to save a bunch of money!

That doesn't surprise me. People have gas station credit cards that give them pennies back on the dollar and that looks like a good deal. Idiots.
Otoh, we had a local station that had a posted price for gas that was $1.50 a gallon high, and it was always busy. Nobody ever bought any gas but they were selling SOMETHING lots of people wanted.

I died when the fools in this state didn't repeal that BS tax, but I never saw a single commercial explaining the "Yes" side of the proposition. The "No" side commercials were very frequent.

They can pass a HUGE tax, spend .001% on children's cancer research, blow the rest, and then when people try to repeal it they claim your taking away children's cancer research money. And the fools in this state buy it, hook line and sinker.

Worst about that gas tax is a BUILT-IN AUTOMATIC tax increase FOREVER! California politicians learned their lesson when they couldn't raise gas tax for about 20 years ( it waz already too high) . Now they get an automatic increase in funds to steal.

Here in Mexico regular is about $4.25 gallon, more and more traffic every day, the high prices don't seem to slow anything down.

Not entirely. The voters of CA had a chance to repeal the gas tax last November and over 60% voted to keep it in place. You can't fix stupid.

Two weeks ago, my best friend filled up in Arizona at $2.21, a week later I paid $2.55 for regular and $2.67 for diesel.
Today in california, my local station is $3.99 for regular,$4.30 for premium, $4.40 for diesel, and add another 50 cents if you want to use a credit card.
Shopping around where I drive, I can beat those by about 25 cents.
