Just wondering is gasket sealer used for the intake manifold gaskets? I seem to recall when I refurbished my Edsel's 332 I was told or read in the manual not to use sealer on some gaskets and I believe it was for the intake gaskets. Do you guys use anything?

Don't put anything on the gaskets between the heads and intake. As for the front and rear, I tossed those gaskets and layed a nice thick bead of Permatex Ultra Black sealant on the blocks mating surface prior to setting the manifold on. The bead should resemble a 'weld' as you lay it down. Once assembled and it has cured (give it the 24hrs like it says on the tube) you should have no leaks...ever. You can also use the Permatex Silver. Either works.

If you do use the end gaskets, put a dab of sealer on the ends where the rail meets the head. I usually use Felpro blue intake gaskets. They don't need sealer.

Yes. You need to put a thin bead of silicone around the water ports on both sides of the intake gaskets. Failure to do that and you may end up with a water leak.
