If I were looking in the Phone Book for someone to re-chrome my center console parts on my 68 Dodge coronet, what do I look for? Some of the parts are metal, some are plastic, so I'm not sure if I just go straight to a chromoplating shop or not. . . Any advice would be appreciated.

This is the style console I have.

To my knowledge, those parts are pot metal. However, plastic can be chrome plated--the process is called "vacuum plating". Vacuum Orna-Metal in Romulus, Michigan did my dash bezels--very reasonable.

Those parts are pot metal Any chrome shop should be able to replate them! If they are badly pitted it'll be quite expensive!

None of the parts in the pic are plastic, I agree. I was Just showing what style console I have. The button you press in the shifter, to shift, is plastic.......

Thanks. That's what I'm looking for. I was referring to the shifter button. The pic of the console parts was to show what style console I had, not the parts I'm thing of plating.
