Congrats! I had a 2102 1500 with a hemi and it drove great and hauled ***. My only problem was the lack of payload. Every time I used it to tow a car with a bunch of parts in the back I got PO'd because the rear end was slammed on the snubbers. My solution was to trade it in for a 2012 3500 diesel. Problem solved.

If you don't need to do heavy work you will be just fine.

Or you could just add, air bags to take the extra weight, to an extent anyway...

Hey Meep, how much weight were you putting into the truck and what was your tongue weight? Yeah, 3/4 ton pickups are about as light duty as I want anymore.

With OD these days, there's no reason to go with highway gears but my diesel has a 3.54 in it with 32" tires and still hauls the mail. Our Durango has a 3.90 and still knocks down 13 @ 80 mph and runs a 16.40 1/4 mile. Not too shabby for 4600 lbs and a 318 engine. It does 18-19 @ 60 mph....

Not bad, but here's what you should have gotten..............

Dick that's a cool old 67 W-300, the guy had over $100k in it...LOL... I had a 66 W-200 Power Wagon, I shortened & boxed the frame & put a short bed box on & a 440 in it, 3" lift kit & 35"/Q78's, I loved that "Old Beast", it could haul anything & go almost anywhere...

Cranky,

The first time I noticed a problem was when I loaded up parts and pieces totaling about 16 833 NP trannys. I have no idea how much tongue weight I have but when I drive the car on I just watch the back of the truck relative to the surroundings and let it drop a bit. Just a car trailer would bring it down significantly, then add some parts and you're pretty much done. I used to tow a car with my Durango and it seemed to drop less with a trailer than the new 1500. Maybe the leafs were more progressive than the coils of the new truck. Don't know. The 2012 1500 had a crap load of power to tow and haul and drives great (even overloaded) but the payload was weak - well, I should say 1500 lbs is not enough for me. The 3500 Cummins laughs at anything I put in the back and the first time I put something on a trailer I knew I made the right decision to upgrade.

It's hard to beat the Ram 3500 & Cummins Torgue, for haulen' or towing

Nice truck Mike

Gotta love the White. Shows dirt a lot less than most other colors and allows you to go ANY direction should you wish to personalize it. Good choice!

Very nice truck, and white is my favorite color for a truck or van.

Yup, nice truck but white is too bright for me. Even on cloudy days, it makes me squint. I have a friend who works for a large dealer and he's always bringing over the latest stuff and yeah, the new Dodges are nice but pricey. Last diesel he brought over was hard to keep from speeding....it rode really smooth but my 97 2500 at least keeps me awake lol
