Hello all. Just wondering about something I haven't figured out yet. There seems to be 2, maybe 3 types of heater hose brackets. Air Conditioned cars aren't really what I'm asking about though. The 2 kinds of brackets are pictured below, both are big block cars from '67-'70. So my question is...

Why are there 2 bracket types? Neither car has A/C, so that's not it.

My GTX doesn't have any holes in the inner fender, so obviously it's supposed to have the valve cover variety. What gives?

(Disregard the fact that both car's heater hoses are connected wrong. Not mine.)

Thanks for the input and pictures guys. But it doesn't really answer my question. Why is there 2 different brackets for non-A/C big block cars?

I prefer the look of the fender mounted bracket, but my car doesn't seem to have a hole. Which leads me to believe that my GTX should be equipped with the valve cover type bracket.

The cars that have the hoses mounted to the inner fender are 69 and newer.
The valve cover mount is 68 and older.

hey!! your second pic is my car! lol

Ill clear it up for ya...

the correct bracket for a 68 is the one off of the valve cover. my car happened to have a hole in the fender there and i purchased a bracket for a 69. i like the 69 style better, it just looks cleaner.

Not to steal the thread but does anybody know if you can buy the heater hose bracket that is welded onto the valve cover on the '68 and earlier cars?

I want to buy a rt side B/RB OEM valve cover - any condition as long as it has the heater hose bracket present.
