Hemi coming together.

Be a man whore. It's crossed my mind. I don't think Kitty would approve.

haha, there is more than one way to sell yourself....work on the side, modeling, selling items you own that you wouldn't normally part with...ya know

Yup. All the early Hemis are capable of power well beyond their cubic inch size. This one is a 1956 331 that came out of a D500 dump truck. For whatever reason, Dodge used the Chrysler Hemis in the bigger trucks, even though Dodge did make the Red Ram Hemis all the way to 325 cubes. Go figure. This one.....if I don't end up having to sell it, is going in my 49 Dodge 5 window rat rod truck......and Leanna, that's regular old Chrysler blue.

I had a good thing happen today. I won't go into it, but the Hemi is one step closer to me bein able to keep it.

black64, that's awesome lookin. Post some pics of the car?

A few pics of my 40

That's nice. Tell me about the Chevelle. I have a 70 LS5 car I am working on for a friend now.

The chevelle is my sons car that I bought for him at the age of 14 as a father/son project, that was 20 years ago. We rebuilt it together. it is a 350/350 car but runs strong with the combo we used on the engine.

The 70 is my favorite Chevelle. They just look mean.

I was in love with those as a kid. A buddy of mines father has a numbers matching 70 SS LS6 4 speed in Red with cowl induction hood....just a gorgeous car.

Yup. This LS5 I have here is numbers matching as well.......and one owner. My friend bought it new in Macon at Dunlap Chevrolet.

Got the cam, lifters and pushrods in. Waiting on a cam gear spacer and timing set.

When I stabbed the cam in tonight, I refreshed my memory with the cam spec sheet. Geez. It's bigger than I thought. I thought I remembered it being 230 @.050 ground on a 106, but it's 240 @ .050 on a 106. That oughtta be pretty lumpy in the little 331.

bucket-T, bucket-T, bucket-T, bucket-T...LOL...

I got the cam spacer today. I caint recommend Hot Heads enough. They always come through even on the smallest things. So, I mounted my modified timing chain tensioner and put the timing chain and gears on. Gettin closer........but now my holdup will be the 210 buck timing cover I gotta have. Always sumffin. lol

Timing gear on and valves adjusted.

9.16 cr pretty good... weren't they like 7.8:1 cr or some ridiculously low compression originally ??

The truck motors were 7.5, but I used the 1955 Chrysler 300 piston that was 8.5, milled a little off the heads, decked the block to square it up and used some thin steel Fitzgerald head gaskets.
