Man they trashed allot of cars on that show!

All General Lee Jumps and Stunts Edited Back to Back

yeah they wrecked allot of 68-69 Chargers making that show, they were just another used car back then... there was a video "The birth of the General Lee" one of those over on the right side, that was pretty good, set to the song Wow "Black Betty" song/music... was pretty good, I was a big fan of the show as a youngster, but not so much of all the fake General Lee's everywhere now...

That and the rest of the story is pretty good "get the Amblants"

anyone know the name of the river the general would jump over in the show?

According to everything I've found, 300 Chargers were destroyed for the series and 30 for the movie. It bout don't get no more stupid.

But on the other hand, 300 or more may have been destroyed had it not been for the show. The show was super popular and obviously the General Lee fans are saving all they can, then and now, as well as all the Millions of folks who feel in love with Chargers and Mopars because of the show. At the time the show was being made, they were just another used car like Budnicks said, but they became instantly popular again, probably resulting in a lot more being saved than otherwise would have been, not to mention, saving a lot of Road Runner Chargers, Super Bee Superbird Chargers, and Challenger Chargers, etc as a by product.

I might agree. I tend to think that show was a big factor in increasing Mopar popularity in general. Spend 300 cars to save thousands? Maybe.
