This might seem like a dumb question to many but i have hesitation from my car at acceleration from a dead stop. It will shut off if i gun it at a dead stop. Its a '71 charger with a stock 318, eddy intake and carb. 727 and a dana 60 with 3.54s. It also has drag radials ( i know lol on a 318 but they were free). So what do u guys think? Carb needs tune or maybe to big a carb? Or maybe its a combo of the drag radials that cant let the carb keep up?

carb size is not your problem, I run a 750 Street Demon carb with a semi hot 318 motor (275-300)HP. Did you check to see if you if you get a good squirt gas from the accelerator pump. When did this start happening, after any mods? Check your timing to.

Moes is on the right track. In general, a "bog" off the line is either A) too little squirt coming from the accelerator pump or B) secondaries opening too quickly (spring too light).

Thanks guys I appreciate the info i will adjust the accelerator pump and see if that helps

the 1406 has a lean calibration. you may want to address that as well as accelerator pump.

Start by moving the accellerator pump rod to the hole closest to the air horn. This will bring the pump volume in earlier. The next step would be set float level to 7/32 (not the 7/16 that is recomended). Start there.
