I have a Chrysler AM radio that someone gave me and a have a few questions:
1) How is it grounded, by the mounting stud on the back or the wiring?
2) Is the screw showing on the outside of the case near the antenna an antenna trimmer/adjuster?
3) Is there any reference source available to look up the numbers etched on the outside of the radio case? I was wondering what make/model/year this radio belongs to.

on top I see 15C 42541 B05
on bottom I see 1C 42542 B0
on the back I see 15D 42528
B08

There is an orange wire on the passenger side that enters on the front near the face plate. On the drivers side, there are red, black, and green wires that enter near the rear.

Thank you.

On my 72 Coronet the Green and black harness connector goes to the front speaker harness. The Red and Orange connector power the radio and Radio light. That connector plugs into a 4 wire connector. With 2 Orange wires a black wire and a brown wire with tracer. The Tracer wire is tied into the fuze box 20 Amp. The black wire ties into the flasher harness. If you look under the dash you should see the connectors. You may have to remove the instrument cluster to see the front speaker harness. I can take pictures of the harness connectors on my car if you want.

Thanks a lot. I have the entire dash here on the kitchen table, so I won't need any additional fotos (have a good view of things). It's funny the radio plug-in was the most difficult to figure out.

When I got my car it had a Am Fm tape player mounted under the dash with wires everywhere. The am radio wasn't hooked up. There were so many wires that it took me days to fix the wiring and figure out what the radio plugged into.

That looks to be a 69-71 Chrysler AM radio. Model # depending on the watts.
Yes, red is power to the radio and orange is the light.
There should be a 7 digit number on it starting with 2 or 3, something like 2884605.
Here is a 73 service booklet that probably won't help much but you get the idea. AM radio's are always great for conversion if you want to go that route too.
