A generator is one of those things that is expensive that you (hopefully) rarely use, but when the need arises, you are glad that you have it.

Kinda like a pump shotgun....

I used one that I bought 10 years ago for the first time last year.
I was able to keep two refrigerators/freezers from thawing out and installed a new dishwasher with a drop light.
(Hey, I got board with no power and needed a new dishwasher anyway).

I converted a Dewalt 8000 Watt generator to run on Natural Gas.

Dumping rain all over north jersey & lower new York state. Some areas got hammered with ridiculous flood waters. Some, like myself, got little more than a couple inches of rain. No wind at all.
