Installed Dash, this is what I have, 66 Coronet

Fran, thank you for your suggestion. By chance, is this the "Grounding Strip" you are talking about? This is a pic of when I took the dash apart. I did clean it up and replace it where it belongs, but I might have sprayed it "Alum" os it might have paint on it.

Not in picture post #18. I try to find it in SM and Parts book online nothing. If don't post a picture in 20 mins, going look in my hard copies.

Don't know if Coronets and Satellites are the same, doesn't look like mine.

The strip doesn't show in SM or PM? Simple test to see if instrument panel is grounded. Ground a wire someplace and attach it to aluminum casting on instrument panel someplace. If things start working that the problem.

Has anyone tried this light switch for a 66 Coronet. If I need it, I do not mind replacing it, but I would prefer to replace it only once. Standard Ignition.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
I have used 3 of them. Standard Ignition has been around for a long time. So far so good.

OK folks, I am just returning from the shop. Regarding Heater Motor-- I put in Battery, turned key to ON, Pulled Connector from the Heater Controller on the Heater Box. Hooked up Test Light to the connector ends, grounded the test light, Test Light shines on all three positions. Grounded the Test Light to the front of the Heater Box, and to the Stud that holds the Heater Box in place on the front. Test light shines. So, the switch in the Dash does exactly what it is supposed to do and the Heater Box seems to be Grounded to the car at least on the Front side of Heater Box.

Took out the Heater Controller from Heater Box, hooked Positive Battery to one of the Inbound prongs, test light to the outbound prong to the Negative, Light shines. Tested all three prongs, Light shines.

Replaced the Connecter from the Outbound Heater Box Controller wire (green one that goes over the top of Heater Box to the Motor), hooked directly to the battery Positive, grounded to a good ground, No Heater Motor movement. I reached into the Heater box and manually spun the heater Fan Cage, it is free and looks good.

Finally hooked battery Positive directly to the green wire that goes to the Heater Fan, reached up under the Heater box and tried to ground to the back of the Heater Motor, Nothing.

So, hooked up Battery Positive to the green wire that goes direct to the Heater Motor and took Test light from Negative Battery

terminal to back of the Motor and got no light. Here are some pics of the Heater Controller on the Heater Box. It looks and works good.

Any ideas folks? B.

EUREKA!!!! I owe a lot of folks here an apology. You all have been so kind. Soooo, when all else fails, look at the Service Manual, right?? Dumb me. Anyway, I looked at the SM and had a look for where the "Ground" wire was located. You guessed it, in the back of the box. That said, it is on a screw on the Top edge of the Heater Box. So, I could reach it since I have yet to put in the Glove Box. So, hooked up the Positive on the battery and the Negative to the end of the screw in back of the Heater Box where the Ground Wire is attached and BAM, the heater motor whirled around. :). Here is a pic of where the Ground wire hooks on the back edge of Heater Box. Look closely, you will see my Negative Black Wire that goes to a Screw on the back side.

You an also see the Green Hot wire just to the left of the Ground wire. So, now all I have to figure is how to get a proper ground to that position. The motor squeaks a bit, but my bet is with a blast of WD40 we will be quiet as a church mouse. Again, my apologies for running you folks through this. But, if you have a 66 Coronet, you now know where the Heater Motor is grounded. I guess, that is what comes of this. Now, all is left is to figure out the Instrument Lights. Thanks again to all.

I would use some other lubricant than WD 40. Don’t think it is a great long term lubricant. Sea Foam has worked great for me. There are many other good ones out there.
Great news on the blower motor!Don't know how many times my father said (check the ground)
