Found this on my '65 Barracuda where a previous owner swapped in a later 8 3/4 open differential. If it's factory, what was it used for? If not, I wonder what it's doing here? Thank you. (also posted on FABO).

Heck no, and the factory doesn’t hang anything off the brake lines. Get that thing outta there.
