I like to eat good steaks. Especially tenderloin.
But unfortunately i live in germany where great beef is getting more expensive and rarer by the day...
Just recently i had a 300g usda choice tenderloin steak for 60$ and i'm not sure if it really was (if so then lower end) choice. So now you know what i mean by expensive.

I know there are exchange stores for us army & airforce here in germany and that you can buy usda prime beef there.
Maybe someone over here knows somebody stationed in germany that could buy these steaks for me? (For a premium of course)

If someone exports this stuff or has a contact i'm also interested.
But i need it shipped to my door. I cant "import" beef myself.

I even thought about selling this stuff if i had a good supply...
As there is nothing really good and affordable it should sell like there's no tomorrow.
Maybe could afford a hemi mopar soon if i did. :D

I already asked a dozen german companys but had absolutely no luck so far.

I spent a couple weeks in Germany a few years ago. What I remember most about that visit is how bad the beef was! You have my sympathy.

I guess that why the Germans all ate sausage and pork...?? You need to find someone in Texas to help ya out!

Pretty soon we are going to be asking them to send us beef! Cows are about to be outlawed in the USA!

Too much methane ! Meanwhile diesel emissions skyrocket due to lithium mining for car bombs oh I meant batteries.

I just had talk with a butcher here in michigan....He said they are all having trouble getting good beef. I just paid $95 for a side of prime fillets (sp?) the ny strip side was $140...WTF sh*t is getting crazt!!

Time to raise your own folks!

Well I'm on the down hill side of the life bell curve and da world is weird. Been this way for a long time; but keeps getting more weird. Caught the first bucket full when I had to endure sexual harassment training in the 90's as a manager with a dozen females in my department. Then other training on how to understand 'yourself' with role playing crap. Geez hated that ****.
I left the corporate world opening my own biz; but that crap damaged my head before I left. Now it's to be electric cars, and plant meat, gotta be careful of anything you might say so as not to offend anyone. At one time people were responsible for themselves - not looking for or expecting someone else to solve their woes. If I did something stupid, my folks were more of a concern about accountability than the police. No wonder we have lawyers coming out of the woodwork.

Well my apologies, I've digressed about obtaining good beef. Yeah - when cows are outlawed only outlaws will have cows...or something like this...lol. Maybe finding a hamburger will be like buying crack someday; get snagged with one and it's jail time.
Can see it now - steak cartels.

I thought the butcher said, you can get a good look at a T-bone by stickin your head, oh, wait!

Went S&S and had vacuum bagged steaks. They looked brown not red like fresh cut.

Oh ya, when your talk'in good beef well.... living in small town Iowa has it's advantages, most of you in other states or country's have no clue what good beef or pork really is. I have travelled to many states over the years and it's crazy how crappy a bad steak can be, even when the local's say it's a good place to eat we find it's nowhere near what good quality beef or pork should be. good luck.....

Was in Germany in the early 70's and it was about the same. Used to go to a club in Frankfurt (Zoom) and some GI friends taught the French cook how to make American hamburgers using German meat. Wasn't bad but still a good ways from being good hamburger lol. I'm in Texas and good beef is starting to get a bit hard to find unless you want to pay big bucks or know someone that butchers cattle from time to time.....

My dad knows a few farmers and hunters and just recently we got some wild hog sausages.
Man these have been SOOO good. You dont want to eat the stuff from the butcher or grocery ever again...
Unfortunately not a constant source and no great beef so far...

Well our famous "Schweinebraten" CAN be a really good dish.
Unfortunately these days most restaurants are just serving crap for the masses / trying to maximize profit.
It also has to be fresh. If its warmed up for the second time it will taste like crap... (Thats true for most food of course but especially pork)

The problem (in this country at least) was/is that there are only a handful of processing companies
that handle the vast majority of beef for the whole nation - and they've been playing with the market,
reputedly out of concerns over the kung flu (their unions often refuse to work due to this supposed
concern).
Another obvious complication this causes is that beef producers can't get their meat to market, being
held hostage by the processing plants....so it goes to waste.

I read an article recently about a group of beef ranchers who decided they had had enough of this and
set about learning how to open their own processing plant - and with guidance from the USDA, they
actually did it! I thought that was pretty damn cool.

Anyways, back to the OP's question:
First thing that came to my mind was Omaha Steaks, who has a huge online business and ships tons
of beef around North America and the US territories.
Unfortunately for the OP, a check of their website found this:
"International Shipping
Due to import/export restrictions, we are unable to ship our products outside the United States, Canada,
Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands."
So much for that idea....

Ed you made me think of Costco. There are Costco's in Germany, during Nov/Dec they ship steaks. Year round??

I really enjoyed eating schnitzel and bratwurst when I was in Germany but haven't found anything here that's close to what I got over there....but, I didn't enjoy T-bone steaks etc before going over there either but once I had good steaks at home, the other stuff didn't matter so much! :) Would still like to have some good German schitzel and brats like I got over there. Was stationed at Hahn AFB from mid late 71 to early 73....
