After a diagnosis of cancer last winter and giving him only a month to live, we finally had to put Buddy down this morning nearly a year later.
In the end it wasn't even the cancer that took him. He just couldn't walk anymore. I've been carrying him up and down the stairs 4-5 times a day for the last 3 months, but he was still able to "walk."
Yesterday he wasn't able to get up at all on his own. I was able to pick him up but he couldn't even stand on his own.
He was uncomfortable and didn't sleep all night.
We finally had to make the decision this morning.
The last picture was taken this morning.
I think they both knew.
Rest easy Buddy!
