Just found this on a Facebook site. I think it's pretty awesome:headbang:

Any more photo's of it or in action i.e. vid?
I tried searching for more info on this car with no luck. I'd love to see a full side shot of it. I always loved the Mad Max (first movie) cars. The color scheme on the Interceptors is so cool!

There's a $100 76 4 door maverick not far from me.

I've always wanted to make a pursuit special out one of those (closest thing to the Aussie Falcon).

Might even sell.

Didn't Max have a blower that he could engage at will with a gizmo attatched to his shifter? So, fer like, when he needed extra power when he was being chased by bad guys he could just turn the supercharger on, kinda like an a/c compressor, and tear-*** outta there....movie magic.

Yes, the black Interceptor had a make-believe Weiand blower Max could turn on and off.

Cool MFP scheme on that GTX, btw... just lacks the yellow painted wheels.

Next to Chrysler B-bodies, the Australian Falcon XB has been a want-to-own since the 80's... that, and the DeLorean DMC-12, as movie cars go.

; ) !

My Classic Car did an episode on this right?

Here's one that actually looks like the original Interceptor that this guy here in Los Angeles built a few years ago. He goes to a few shows here a year, this was at "Bob's Big Boy" in Toluca Lake in 2011.815.JPG816.JPG817.JPG818.JPG819.JPG820.JPG821.JPG822.JPG823.JPG824.JPG

madmaxcars.com used to import and sell Aus cars and kits for the add on parts.

think they slowed down quite abit since the late 90's.

the 70-71 torino sportsroof is real close to the lines of the 2 door falcon.

I love those Zoomies in front of the rear wheels. You never see those anymore. They were very popular back in my high school days. I had those on my custom van back in the 70's.
This is a great looking Mad Max replica. One of the best I've ever seen. Thanks for posting.
I read an article a few years back about 2 of the original movie cars being owned by Brian Johnson of AC/DC.

Weird, I just picked up a '74 4dr Maverick yesterday for the axles. Lemme know if you need anything.

I was actually out in Oz in '01 on my Harley. Made it a point to ride the road they filmed the Road Warrior on. It's outside a town, (or spot on the map) they call Silverton, in South Australia. About a 5 mile, mostly straight road, out to a reservoir. Middle of nowhere! But I rode it! Kinda like Mecca to us car guys! Got some great b&w snaps to really show the feel of it.

Broken Hill?

Broken Hill was I think north of there. Old mining town. I hit it that the evening after leaving Silverton. I got into a "blue" with a local after his girlfriend thought I was more interesting than him. Trust me, I wasnt trying! But this "Yank bikie" passing through, was a bit of a novelty that small town Oz girls seemed to like.

IIRC females outnumber males by 3:1 down there!!!
