However, if it were me, I'd consider a 5.2/5.9 Magnum swap.

If you go with the 5.9, it will be like getting a 73 400 but without a lot of the SB to BB issues.

I will definitely look into that! I have a relative who has a fresh short block 318 for $500 so I was looking into that.

Well I picked up a 318 5.2 magnum out of a 99 Durango yesterday for $150. Real clean motor around 120k miles on it.
