Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the steering column in a 69 b-body between a manual and power steering mopar? If there is a difference, will the manual one still work with a new power steering unit? A friend of mine was telling me today that there is a difference in length . Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a difference in the shaft length. Some people will say you can pound the shaft into the column and make it fit (and you can) but that will defeat the purpose of the collapsible steering column. Better to just get the correct steering shaft parts.

There is about a 4 inch difference between the two columns. Going from the power to manual, you need the shaft adapter. The other way around, you will need the proper column.

I have a spare 70 rr steering column that was power steering but i need to use it in my 69rr which has the ignition on the dash and not the column. Is it possible to change out parts of the column between the two to make it work?
