Mixed 87 and 93 to get better deal what math to use?

According to Stumper's spreadsheet, I got 89.95 octane for less than the price of 89.

I'm claiming victory.

I saved a buck and my car will run slightly better.

I did notice that stations vary wildly on their pricing structure.

The OP is from a Sunoco.

Last night I was at Race Trac, and theirs is 20c diff between 87 and 89 and 15c between 89 and 93. Less attractive, but still disproportinate.

Also the cost of premium varies wildly as well. Most stations don't post their prem prices anymore, so checking the pump can be a good idea. I've noticed a 25c diff between some stations!!
