XS22J8R added a new event:

Moparty Beech Bend Raceway Bowling Green KY September 13-15, 2024

Holley had dragged their feet committing to the date, but thankfully did finally nail it down Friday!
With the variety of Mopar activities happening at this show, it’s arguably the best Mopar show in the country.
Events there include Autocross, drag racing, an off-road Jeep experience track, a car show, evening exhibitions and a swap meet, all at a beautiful rolling hills facility.

The Moparty show is quickly approaching and in talking with the FM3 staff, the event is already ahead of last year's numbers for preregistrations. In talking with our customers, we are hearing from them attending as far away as Canada and Colorado. We are looking for a good show and awesome weather. If any special request, please let me know.

I wonder if Martin CDJR in Bowling Green will host a kick off cruise Thursday night like they have the past couple years?

I have just got off the phone with the general manager for the Martin CDJR. Unfortunately, due to some logistic problems with having to move 170 plus cars from their auxiliary lot, they have determined that it is not possible to stage the cruise in / kick off show for this year and the Moparty event.

The manager said that they were staging an event even prior to the Moparty and that it will be back on the schedule for next year.

I will be at this event racing in true street. If any of you see me, stop by and introduce yourself!

So do we have a backup plan to all meet up some where Thursday evening?

Many from my group from Chicagoland stay at a hotel on Cave Mill road with a nice parking lot, assuming the weather is decent we'd probably be hanging out there.
However things are starting to look bleak. Hurricane Francine is going to move onshore and weaken, with the rain heading northeast timing to head through the Bowling Green area Friday and Saturday. I just saw a forecast 1-1/2 inch of rain forecast in Louisville, which is about 100 miles north of Bowling Green, through mid day Sunday. I hope somehow things change but the weather system development with the storm is becoming clear and and looking like it couldn't be traveling through the show area at a worst time.

Yeah we have been watching the weather too. We are heading up from Fort Worth TX and trying to decide if we bring the car or just come without it so we don't have to deal with a trailer and car in the rain and wind. We will be there either way just might not have a RoadRunner with us.

I just talked to a friend of mine from the Chicagoland Mopar Connection club and he said he's been talking to fellow members and they're still planning to go despite the dismal weather outlook. I registered my Magnum in spring and was really looking forward to taking it down there this year, but I can't see going through the stress and hassle if it's going to rain much of the time. Unless we get a big change in the forecast and I decide to tow my trailer, I am going to still bring a car though, my '23 Challenger. Better than nothing I guess, and it will be a lot more comfortable drive down I-65 than white knuckling it pulling my 24' trailer down there and back. Hopefully we'll get some breaks in the weather and a fair number of people will still brave the forecast to come and support the show. Again we'll be at the Marriot on Cave Mill so if it's not raining in the evening and you're out driving around, stop in the lot and say hi if we're hanging out there.

The A12 Registry was trying to get enough cars for a dedicated display area. This did not happen. We will have an A12 meet and greet Q/A at 10:00 am Saturday at the RPM/Dales Cuda Shop tent.

Hope to see you there.

I wouldn’t let a little rain detour you from bringing a vehicle. I’m bringing mine regardless of the weather.

We brought it! Here and ready to have some fun! See you folks out and about this evening.

For any of you guys who are attending the Moparty event, Darrin Stanke will be hosting an informal meet and greet / question and answer session on Saturday. the 14th between approximately 10:30 ,to 11:30 at our tent. Just look for the large white tent as you enter the swap meet from the show car field.

Just a meet and greet scenario for anyone with questions regarding the A12's specifically or B-bodies in general.

Just look for the Dale's Cuda Shop or Restoration Parts and Materials banners.

Thanks,
Richard

Weather turned out miraculous given the dire rain forecasts last week. It rained a bit starting after 4 Friday, but otherwise sunny the whole time!
A lot of rain passed south, and some north too. Someone up there apparently likes Mopars and parted the skies for the show!
The rain forecasts kept show cars and drag car attendance down though. I’d say show cars were down 30-40% over last year. Still a ton of prime cars there though.
Next years show is September 12-14. Make a note to be skeptical of anything the weatherman says for ‘25 in days prior to the event that makes you wary of attending.

Weather was great! Lots of racing but car count was down considerably over last year. Can’t believe anyone would believe the weathermen with their horrible track records…

I was there for first time. Wondered about attendance as the swap meet seemed pretty sparce. The weather was great. There were plenty of nice cars, and the autocross track and strip were busy all day. Saw this beautiful AMC there.

I'm feeling a little Deja Vu. 2 weeks after Moparty, pretty much same time of the week, Hurricane remnants heading up north towards Bowling Green are making the forecast for the weekend there horrible. This time it's Hurricane Helene making a beeline for Holley Fordfest. The forecasted path images look almost exactly like what I was seeing 2 weeks ago as I sadly watched an outlook that looked certain to ruin my eagerly anticipated trip there.
Will the skies part and prove the forecasts wrong once again? Unfortunately for the Ford guys, I doubt they will be equally blessed. Someone up there surely was looking out for Mopars 2 weeks ago!
