My first car model.

My first was a 58 Edsel dealer promo. Took me nearly a week of pestering my dad to go to the dealership to get it lol. He hated Ford products and only owned one during my lifetime and it was a headache too.

I do not remember who made it, but my first was a Willy's Pick-up Model kit....in '69

Yeah, I figured it was one of the two. It was probably Revell, but that was 50+ years ago.

My first kit was an AMT 1959 Edsel. I painted it with house paint. I have done hundreds of kits since then. I don't use house paint any more.

Yup, Revell '43 Willy's Pick-up kit circa 1969 would be pretty exact.

I did this one up a couple of years ago It was re-released with Coca-Cola decals. I swapped the Olds for a Hemi. I have built a lot of kits during Covid. Decals and wheels came from my "spares" box.

My first was a 65 coronet, you can't even find one now, unless it's a snap together. Gave them all away this last move.

Hey-O, This is AMT's current kit and, even being a "snap it", it's spot-on to the real car and has an amazing amount of detail. The engine can be built as either a max or street wedge and has manifolds, carbs & air cleaners for both. A cool collectable even if you leave it sealed in the box and display it that way. Thanks, I've seen it and It's the only one made anymore. I'll end up having to get that one when I'm ready.

I agree. That '65 is a really nice model.

I have the pre-built one and it fits right in with my other, self assembled 25th scale cars and trucks.

Whatever little Asian girl built it, did a great job with no glue drops, and good paint and detail painting.

Early 60's Ford Falcon.... was my baptism... can't count how many I built, all went into the garbage... large hefty bags full... when I moved

I haven't got the patience or desire to build models any longer. These days I prefer the full size real McCoy.

I still have 95% of the ones I had from the 1970's on.

I have the decals to do Landy's '65 AWB. I'll use that kit to do it and move the wheelbase.

At about 12 I turned pro at model building.
Right there was the top rung.
I tried to do a baked paint job on a Mustang in moms stove, nothing under it just set it on the rack.
Do not recall the temp setting but it turned out it was a couple hundred to high.
Stunk up the house, melted plastic in the oven.
Caught one upside the head for that move.
Upside is I did become a bodyman lol.

Still have a bunch downstairs - even a car with turtle wax that came in the box .
