Hi everyone, my name is Maurice, friends call me Maus (as in Mouse) and since one week I'm the proud owner of a 1974 Dodge Coronet Custom Sedan with a 225 Slant Six engine.
I work as a mechanic at a Caterpillar dealership 15 minutes (by bicycle) from my home town.
10 Years ago I've owned a 1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III for more than 15 years, so I'm a little bit used to old US cars. I usually maintain my cars myself, unless it's something which I don't have the tools or knowledge for.
About the Dodge, it's a car sold in Belgium in 1979 and has been stored since 1992 until recently I bought it. The previous owner had it for a few months and started working on a few things, like a new fuel tank and waterpump, but he needed money and sold me the car. I have the bill and all the paperwork from 1979 with it, so that's pretty nice I think.
There's a few things to do on the Dodge, like new tires and wheel bearings, a fuel and temperature gauge not working, but all in all it's a nice car with not to much rust on it.
I really like the fact that it is mostly in its original shape.
