Anyone know the difference between 2426458 and 2426459 engine temperature sending units . One is specified as with air and the other is non air?????

The 458 is a stud terminal and the 459 is a button terminal. Not sure on the 459 function.

One other thought was a possible warning light. My books all show the same gauge regardless of sender. C-bodies seem to use it more. I just can not picture a car with two senders but it might be possible. Hence the different terminals so the wires do not get switched.

The answer is in the FSM engine wiring diagram. The only difference is the style of connector. The only logic I can think of is the a/c brackets must block access to the typical stud style sensor. They use the button head with the slide on terminal at the 90 degree angle. Same wiring just says stud except 8 cylinder with air conditioning and the other says 8 cylinder with air conditioning only.

Ok, Thanks.
I have a picture of the 459 and now that you mention it. It looks like it has the button terminal. I didnt catch that in my picture untill now

Guess I need to look at my 67 factory AC GTX with original harness. I thought it had a molded stud type terminal on the wire but my memory may be faulty.

I think I have seen the odd connector. However seems like 99.9 percent or more were always the stud style no matter with or without a/c. If that was true which it must be they would also have to offer the complete engine harness for one connector..
