you guys are having a bad week, my heartfelt condolences go out to you all.

wonder what will happen with the gun laws now.

Thanks Benno. For now that gun grabbing agenda got voted down but I'm sure there is always time to try again.

yeah the terrorist's from the Boston Marathon bombing running around in Boston Suburbs, got in a gun fight one of the suspects the 26 y/o dead, a campus cop dead, a Watertown cop shot, a SUV car jacked, big gun fight in the streets, area shut down, still looking for the 19 y/o etc.

yeah a bad week for sure, at least the Senate shot down the anti-gun bill....

I say more guns and open season on looneys is the real answer.

Nothing will happen with the gun laws. If 20 kids being senselessly massacred, and a majority of American wanting laws to get stricter won't cause Congress to act, I don't know what will.

I'm in the minority on this board. I'm a law-abiding gun owner who wants universal background checks for all firearm transactions. But I guess allowing "loonies" easy access to guns is what the NRA and it's supporters want. Don't ask me why. People seem to think that any legislation to make it harder for people with a criminal background to obtain a firearm is "gun grabbing". Don't ask me why.

I'm still waiting to see where the $50 Billion dollars a year to pay for an armed guard in every school in America like the NRA proposed is going to come from. Never mind that I won't be reassured if there is an armed security guard being paid $10/hr to lay down his life to protect my kid's school.

Now watch as a bunch of people go off on me for having a different opinion on guns than the herd.

Islam. The Religion of peace. Speaking of bans, better ban pressure cookers.

I am for universal background checks. Almost every firearm i've bought has required me to fill out paperwork and be approved for the puchase. My problem with the government running any program like this is they will fail. All their programs fail. As far as where the $50million is coming from? Quit giving money to countries who burn our flag. Cut the fat out of congressional pay and retirement. Cut the lavish vacations that our "commander in chief" takes. Cut out all the trips in AirForce one. Universal background checks would not have stopped the tragedies that we've seen. We will continue to see tragedies like this now for various reasons and gun registration will not stop it or slow it down.

With the massacre in Newtown, I'm not going to agree with you that increased background checks will fail. With that level of horror, I'm going to support making it more difficult for someone with a criminal history, or a history of mental illness to obtain a firearm. Everyone who disagrees can tell me that it won't work. But I'm not going to take your word for it- the Newtown tragedy blew my mind, and I want something to change. The original poster can tell us from personal experience what happened in Australia to make things change as far as gun legislation. The Daily Show looked at what happened down under:

Whoop dee doo!

I thought he stole his mothers guns. How would background prevent that?

Linking the Newtown tradegy with guns is not going to resolve this pandenic one bit. As a nation we are completely glossing over the real problem - and it is NOT the tools these crazies use. Start with the gaming and movie industry that glorifies violence, media that makes it fashionable, the complete moral breakdown in society, the decay of the family, banning of church and scripture......We have allowed these monsters to be created by everything that has been done to remove respect, morals and honor in our society over the past 40 years. Wake the f*ck up people - we did not have this stuff 40 -50 years ago and guns were in easier access than they are today.... WHY?????? Background checks on law biding citizens will do nothing to stop this violence, nothing.

Not sure why the average citizen wants more laws enacted, when plenty are already broken with every tragedy. The state i'm in already requires a background check, and has for years. The whole argument is based on a false premise. Just like a locked door, only the honest are kept out and the owner of the door has a false sense of security. My children have been taught respect for others and their property, cause and effect and critical thinking skills. Even they get it.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Imagine the shock to one of these young people. All through school they have been part of a huge experiment. Protect self esteem at any cost. Rewards for giving effort, Awards for both sports teams "we don't keep score its bad for self esteem." Public school no longer encourages character. These poor kids graduate and then meet reality head on. The world of adults has fierce competition at every turn. I'm blessed with three great kids and am thankful for programs like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. One Eagle, one Silver award and one working on her Gold.

I live in a state where we have to have a background check on every legal gun purchase, private parties are "supposed to report gun sales to their local Sherriff or Police det.'s also"...The shooting/murder of the campus police officer & wounding of another, was from the 19 y/o & 26 y/o's from Chechnya Bomber/terrorist suspects, from the area & state, both educated there, both went to school & the 19 y/o lived there in the dorms @ UMass, Mass./Cambridge/Watertown/Boston area, they were both supposedly upstanding assimilated into the community... Which that area has one of, if not some of the most stringent/strict gun laws, in the nation, it didn't stop them... Giving up more law abiding citizens rights, having the Govt. have more data base on the people that don't/won't do these type things, IMHFO isn't the answer... The Newtown Mass. incident was a theft & murder of the legal gun owner, the shooter/wacko nut job, did NOT own the guns, he stole them from his mother, after he murdered her, how does a background check help there ??... "that's a rhetorical question, I don't want or need an answer"... Enforce the laws already on the books 1st...

Nope. I and many people I know have been watching violence on TV and playing violent video games for decades. I am not a violent person. Entertainment does not breed MONSTERS. Let me get this straight. You're AGAINST making background checks mandatory for guns, but you're FOR censoring entertainment? Got it. We are all supposed to live in a Norman Rockwell painting type world, complete with the government telling us what we can watch, how we should act, and what games we should play, but anyone who wants to be armed to the teeth, no matter how screwed up in the head they are, should be able to obtain a weapon? GET REAL.

These three were presented to us as the first responders at Sandy Hook! If they are proven to be the same, then things are even more complicated! From left to right: Michael McGowan, David Enllgren and Liam Seabrook. [22 CBS News] What where they doing undercover in Boston?

I try to keep an open mind and not by brainwashed by what our goverment wants us to think. They do control the mainstream media. I spent a lot of time looking at crowd photos taken before the bombs went off and looking at the backpacks people were carrying. Noticed some interesting looking people with like backpacks. These men above were running away from the explosion. If you look at the crowd photos you'll see a like dressed man wearing a backpack just like the one the bomb was supposedly in. Here's a few other interesting facts.

I will present you a series of terrorist attacks that took place AT THE SAME TIME and IN THE SAME WAY as official "drills" were being conducted by governmental institutions or companies affiliated to the government:

1. I remind you that during the 9/11 attacks, the US Air Force was conducting a "simulation" where terrorists hijackers had taken over passenger jets in order to fly them into buildings.

Also, for several years prior to the 9/11 events, the U.S. defense agency conducted "drills using REAL AIRCRAFT simulating terrorist attacks crashing jets into buildings, including the twin towers and the Pentagon."

"On the morning of 9/11, 5 war games and terror drills were being conducted by several U.S. defense agencies, including one 'live fly' exercise using REAL planes. Drills also apparently included the injection of false 'radar blips' onto the screens of air traffic controllers." [2] points: 15, 16, 17 and 18.

2. "Simulations" of a terrorist attack were also undergoing in 2005 in London, when the actual attacks took place:

"On the afternoon and evening of 7th July 2005, information came to light about a private company running a terror rehearsal operation in London at the time that real explosions were reported to have occurred on the transport network. These revelations came not from an anonymous source but instead from the Managing Director (Peter Power) of the private firm running the terror rehearsal operation."

Do you think it was just a coincidence? Well, think again!

Peter Power: "Our scenario was very similar (...) it was based on bombs going off, to the time, the locations, all this sort of stuff. (...) there was a few seconds when the audience didn't realize whether it was real or not."

"Yesterday we were actually in the City working on an exercise involving mock broadcasts when it happened for real. (...) When news bulletins started coming on, people began to say how realistic our exercise was - not realizing there was an attack."

I don't know how many of you know, but almost one hour after the London Underground tube system attacks, a fourth bomb was detonated on the top deck of a double-decker bus.

But Mr. Power's "simulation" did not included any bus bombing "simulation"...or has it?

Peter Power: "We simulated a scenario with multiple bomb explosions (...) and 1 bus interchange, to stretch ourselves and test our capabilities." -- [3].

And there is more!

3. During the Sandy Hook massacre, the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA conducted an exercise entitled: "Needs for children in disasters" at the same day, 12/14/2012, and in the same State as the Sandy Hook events! -- [4] at 1:16:23 into the documentary.

4. A "simulation" for a 7.9 Richter earthquake was planned on March 20, 2012 in Mexico. In the same day, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake actually occurred. [5].

5. "Colorado University held identical drill, the same day as the Batman massacre." [6] Alex Jones.

6. The Oslo, Norway, bomb attacks -- "In Oslo, a powerful bomb went off in or near the building which houses the office of the Prime Minister. Exactly as we would expect, special anti-terror police had been drilling setting off bombs in a nearby part of the Norwegian capital in advance, specifically during 2010. The public had not been informed in advance, but found out what was happening when they began hearing bombs in the opera house district, less than a kilometer away from the prime minister’s office which was attacked on Friday. Here is a report from the newspaper Aftenposten:

'Armed police were seen in the area around the opera house in Oslo, and violent explosions could be heard over large parts of the city. No one knew that this was all a matter of practice. The Information Section of the Oslo police deeply regrets that the public was not made aware of the seemingly dramatic exercise….It was the emergency squad, the national police special unit against terrorism, which was conducting a drill in the cordoned off area at Bjørvika pier.

According to a press release from the police, nearly a day after the exercise, the drill consisted of training in the controlled detonation of explosive charges….The exercise will continue for the rest of Wednesday night and a few more explosions are expected….The exercise followed a familiar pattern for all anti-terror forces around the world: The men lowered themselves down from the ceiling and into through the window that had just been blown out, while they fired hand their weapons.'" [7] & [8].

Wow. This is about Islamic terror and nutjobs. More laws will not help. Better to profile the Crapistan terror and ID the loonies on the street.
