Oil pan color

Looking for a project to do this weekend. Was the oil pan the same color as the engine? 68 charger 383

Kind of like the sides of the valve covers. They sprayed the top and the exhaust manifolds but that’s about it.

Old factory pictures I’ve seen show them suspended from chains moving down a line with something like a one sided spray booth.

What i wouldn't give to go back in time and watch these cars go down the assembly line lol...
