This is not in reference to any member on FBBO, just a question.

When a seller and buyer agree on price/shipping/method of payment (ie, paypal), why doesn't the buyer pay immediately? This question is for just using paypal only. If buyer/seller agree to another form of payment and time for said payment, then thats fine.

My gripe is if paypal is to be used, send the payment asap. You dont go to the store, load up your cart and get in line to pay, then not pay.

Just sounding off cause this has happened to me twice in 5 days on another forum.

i have not used paypal recently but a freind said they now hold the buyers money until they recieve the goods and say its ok to pay.i can see both sides of that coin, except the part about being able to cancel the payment.i will just work out my own deal and pay pal can stick it!

I just bought some items, ebay and private sellers recently, and all recieved the money damn near instantly, 5 minutes or less.

i have bought using paypal..and have waited maybe a day-due to agreeing on a price/sale over the phone, but was not able to get to the computer right away...have infant twins, work, etc. but never let it go longer than 1 day.

When I sell something on ebay for example, I usually put in the auction something like "to be paid for 3 days after auction's end or item will be relisted". Sometimes people see something they want and maybe don't have the money in the bank, but will get paid in a day or two, for example. It does help to know that kinda info up front.

Damn, I must be narrow minded, never thoght of the reasons that have been posted.
