Pink dash wires heating up/melting

Hey guys I put all new harnesses from m and h in my 69 Coronet. New turn signal switch and turn signals work. All the lights work but no brake lights or hazard lights. The dome/stop fuse is burning hot to the touch which is heating up all the pink wires under the dash. I have grounded the taillights but I don’t see another obvious issue. I keep disconnecting the battery so all the pink wires don’t melt down. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Visual check for harness/wires pinched or rubbed through and shorted to ground somewhere. Screws that attach sill panels are possible culprits also. Anywhere harness/wires take tight turns around metal panels can be potential cause.

Are you certain all the pink wires in your fuse block are after the fuse? 1 or 2 didn't accidentally get put on the unfused side?

Yes all on fused side the red wire with white stripe is the only thing on the supply side—this is how it came brand new from m and h— no alterations except I plugged the map light connector in which is functioning normally with door switches

Yes I am checking that but this is a brand new dash harness and the interior is not in yet so I can see that there are no screws or anything rubbing

Maybe the turn signal switch is faulty?? When I first got my car I had hot wire issues even melting in the steering column that eventually ended up being the turn signal switch.

Yes I am checking that but this is a brand new dash harness and the interior is not in yet so I can see that there are no screws or anything rubbing

Well as they say check the easy things first— I did not have 1004 dual contact bulbs in the convertible courtesy lights so is was backfeeding power... thank you guys

It was the wrong bulbs in the courtesy lights they have to be 1004 thanks
