Pizza Hut sucks monkey balls!

Some "zero tolerance" policies can be stupid. I'll bet lawyers are standing in line already to represent this guy in an unlawful termination suit....

In my state and close to.me too. Thats beat. Got a crappy job as it is, then to be attacked on the job and have your employer give you a slap in the face. No more pizza hut for me. Their pizza sucks anyway. There are so many local corner pizza/sub shops around here that blow the chains away. He could easily find another job at one of them. Its not like he is in the middle of nowhere MD where there are not much options.

Anyone should have the right to protect themselves at any time both on and off the job. This case is a perfect example of having work rules that don't make sense in every case. Most employees aren't allowed to carry firearms on the job unless their job is security. I'm pretty sue that Pizza Hut or any of the big chains isn't going to spend any money providing security for their delivery drivers, and if they lose a driver now and then, well that's just a cost of doing business. In this job market they can replace a driver pretty easily.

If I didn't like their pepperoni lovers pizza so much, I'd probably boycott them. Bummer that this dude is in trouble for defending himself, or is he.

A Pizza Hut spokesman denied Swicegood's allegations in an email to The Huffington Post. "He was not demoted, his wages were not lowered and his hours were not cut," wrote Doug Terfehr. "He remains employed with Pizza Hut and the situation is being handled internally with the utmost concern for his well being."

Thatever that means....

Either way, pizza delivery ppl have a tough job.

Reminds me of the guy that got fired from Asshole Zone for taking down a robber with his own weapon.....

Bad when you may have to loose your job or penalized for protecting yourself... I don't remember the Auto Zone one but i wonder if maybe he could have even saved someone else s life stopping the robber! Makes ya sick, you would think they would give them a raise.

"What kind of idiots run Pizza Hut? is it the same ones that make their crummy Pizza?"

Apparently the same ones whos dictator runs Auto-Zone! I don't care all that much for pizza anyway but we make our own (Cheff boy RD), kind of like them with some added hot banana peppers mushrooms and a sweet onion! i had pizza hut once and didn't like it either..

Unfortunately, corporations worry about their legal issues.

Yeah, that does seem to be the way thing are these days. But I wonder what those legal issues would be if the guy got hurt, or worse!

Unfortunately, corporations worry about their legal issues.
They have to if they want to stay in business. There are so many looking for an angle to 'easy money' that it sucks. My POS druggie jailbird son in law is one of those kinds of scammers. Instead of looking for legitimate ways to earn a living, he's always thinking how he can sue someone or burn his next car or house for the insurance money. I've been able to get him arrested once or twice but he never spends much time locked up. This world would be a better place if he were to choke on a rock.....

What a load of bull*$%@, we had a guy at work grab another around the neck and beat his face in. He deserved it and they knew it, neither where fired. At least things still make sense at the sawmill.

I feel for you Cranky.
Thanks but there's no need to feel sorry. He stays away from me because he knows I'm always armed :D As for the oldest daughter....if she wants to live that life, that's her problem and not mine anymore. She's welcome to come over but she knows the money tree is closed for good and therefore, she doesn't come over much.

Since when is it a person cant defened them selves ,i have no probem staying away from Pizza Nut.There has to be a better way to let pizza Nut know people that spend money there are pissed

I make better pizza then them anyway

:iamwithstupid: Since when is doing the right thing wrong ??... There's way too much Liberal PC sh-t going around nowadays, I don't care what someones rules are, personal or corporate, "I will always defend myself, screw the BS PC rules"... what's wrong with companies &/or larger corporations especially now, like Auto Zone or Pizza Hut, for example, so damn worried so much about covering their own collective asses, second party liabilities, they can't see the simple logic or common sense... what's wrong with these, scum bags that sue everyone at a drop of a hat too, even if they are who were/was wrong... we're breeding, indoctronating, teaching & raising a bunch of defenseless, wimps, lawyers & suit happy population of nanny staters... when will everyone "finally" see the light, including corporations, govt. &/or courts, use basic logic or common sense... wow, I feel better much now !!
