Pushrod problem

Me and a friend says narrow side down in the lifter, a shop nearby thats restores engines says narrow side in the rockers, so my brother now has all with small side up in the rockers in hes 1961 413, whats correct up and whats correct down.

I was going to say the same,,,, small end in the lifter,,,,,,,, I think the lifters were a different style than the standard lifter you get as a default purchase item today...... I'm pretty sure most of what you can buy in lifters take the large on both ends pushrods.....
 
This pushrod is out of my 67 New Yorker and I guess thats the last year for them, it looks like we have right and the "specialized engine shop" don't know how to place them, hmm my brother has to change all of them again, why is it so hard to do as your little brother tells you LOL.
 
Yes, the very old style pushrod pictured above goes with the old lifter and I'd question if the new lifters are the same as the old. Best guess is they are all superseded to the newer style so I'd consider getting the newer pushrods to match. Assuming of course you have a newer cam and lifters.
