Would it be best to cut it with a sabre saw or cut it with a hot knife? I believe I have a hot knife attachment for my butane soldering kit for slicing plastic.

I just used the 1/16" thick cut wheel on my die grinder, I believe, but I had the advantage of a split case. I'd drill holes in the 4 corners and use a jig saw.

I have a few quarter sized saw blades for my dremel. They work pretty well but they do melt the plastic.

The plate "stand offs" in the bottom are a good 1/2" high so that + the 1/4" case thickness and you need something closer to a 1.5 to 2" diameter wheel.

Cranking my 451ci, 11to1 cr
I bought this battery 10 years ago never had a problem.
I recently ordered a new one, just in case.

@strokie So did you just cut the case top off right below the lid?.. or how did you get the bonded top off? Or did you buy it with the AGM already inside??

Yes I cut the top off right below the lid and cut the bottom too..
It's really a big mess to clean the inside.
You must install helicoil in the terminal to screw your bolts.
