I have SEM Color Coat Interior paint and Im curious how important the adhesion promoter is that they recommend using. None of the local auto part stores carry much SEM stuff and I was wonding if any of you guys mixed another brand adhesion promoter with SEM products. I was hoping to get started this weekend but dont want to skip a crucial step that will hurt the final product. And I know that Cleanliness is Godliness.
Thanks-Stew

Prep is key to the paint looking good . The problem with the plastic interior parts is usually in the past they have been wiped with Armor ALL or similiar product which will cause fish eyes when you paint. Make sure the parts are super clean(I like to scrub them with TSP and a gray scotchbrite pad but in a pinch Dawn works ok too). After drying, wipe a few times with a good paint prep and then use the plastic adhesion promoter(I have used Bulldog and Duplicolor brand also) You don't want to shortcut on this cause if you get fisheyes in the paint you will say some choice words. I have never had a problem mixing plastic adhesion promoter products. Good luck.

X2 - prep is the key. I've used the Dupont adhesion promoter under the SEM products with good results also.

Thanks guys. Used some Duplicolor with the SEM and everything turned out great
