Trim Black is good stuff, many comments I find state no primer undercoat:

Yup, no primer needed. However, I use rustoleum flat black, high heat, outdoor grill paint as a primer. It's cheap and saves a few coats of SEM black.

Rustoileum is a different base than any other paint. I was advised by the paint store to not use rustoleum paint with anything else.

So users beware, someone in the industry says it can be a potential problem.

don't disagree, just saying that I do and it works great under SEMS. to each his own.

I used SEM landau black with SEM adhesion promoter on the interior plastics and door panels on the Challenger, Matches 100% perfect to factory interior black

How much are you really saving ?!?!

Prior to painting I clean the surface(s) with wax and grease remover. No primer. Personally I've found that the SEM is such a good product that one fast coat is all that's needed (over an item of the same colour). On any textured surface, the less paint the better. So "a few coats" is not how you want to shoot most interior surfaces.

SEM is good stuff never used primer or had a problem.
