I have had my four speed rebuilt and the genius that did it didn't get the speedometer gear back in right, and it ran ok for a couple of minutes and then the needle started to go all over the place from 100 mph to zero because the gear was not meshed in properly. I fixed that and now the odometer works but the speedometer does not. Is is possible to pull the module and repair that or do I have to get a new module for it. I have not pulled it yet and I hate to try and find another one. Thanks for anybody's help.

what are you referring to as the Speedometer Module ??, the Speedo/gauge cluster itself or the transmission speedo gear... the gear could be destroyed if it wasn't installed properly in the 1st place & yes your actual gauge could be junk now too, it is mechanical, also the cable could also be bad/broken too, especially if it wasn't installed properly when the trans. speedo gear was installed wrong the 1st time... just spit-ballen here, but I may sell my 68 RR speedo gauge cluster w/tach later this spring or summer, if every thing works out, I'm putting in a custom gauge panel sooner or latter, just not real high on my priority list right now... they run about $250-$350 for a decent & more sometimes for a good Speedo/gauge Cluster w/tach, they ain't cheap anymore... I lost a bid on a restored one for $375 on E-Scam, I quit bidding & sometimes it's cheaper to get them restored, it takes forever, I haven't had it done yet, just read about other people, having to wait to get them back or a long waiting list before they work on your stuff...

Sorry for not being more specific. I am afraid that the problem is in the dash gauge cluster or the cable itself. I believe that I have the correct gear in the transmission and the odometer is working fine but there is no movement out of the speedometer needle at all. I could turn the cable and it seemed to be ok but nothing when I drive the car. So I guess that either I find another one or send this one off and get it fixed, but I hate to do that.
