Sounds like a great time crusing Mo. I went on a similar car cruise a couple weekends ago in the opposite corner of the state. The foliage hadn't turned much but I had a great time in the ol' 66 Dart.

Isn't it crazy,I seem to get up a little earlier every year. I can't remember the last time I woke up after 0600Morning everyone! I actually slept in today, well until about 5:30...which is better than some mornings, I cannot seem to break that habit of NOT getting my *** out of bed even on a day off or weekend! But the coffee is on and tasty!!

Just put the second pot on, relaxing at home on the forum. This time last week my wife and me were on my way to NC for my job interview Tuesday morning at 8am. It became one of my worst Mondays in a very long time.
Was up and ready to go at 6:30 in the morn. Did not get out of town until 9:45am. Strike one. 3 hours behind but planed for it so doing ok.
Got just out side of Harrisburg PA, an hour and 20 mins or so from home, my phone rings, my son was on his way to work and the brakes on his car went. He's tells me everyone involved is ok (the only thing that is important to me) but his car is totaled and he hit two other cars. F#&k! Turn around and made it back to Jersey in about an hour or just under.
The plastic bumper hides it but all of the cooling radiators are into the front of the block. Get him home and calmed down, he was not upset about his car as much as that he hit two other people at a stop light. Just for the few that might say this, the police and me both checked his phone, he was not on it until he called me. His ABS and Traction control computer completely fail causing an abnormal malfunction in the breaking and the car did not want to stop correctly.
It's now around 2 in the afternoon and I'm still at my house. Leave again and make it to my first top off spot 5 hours from home it's somewhere around 7 pm, Fishersville VA. Get the car topped off and our coffee cups. As I'm getting ready to pull away from the pump, my wife's phone rings. Now my sons car is at the tow yard wrecked, my daughter is at work so her car is gone and we have my wife's car, no cars in the driveway. See where this Is going?
Yes, some scumbag junky took notice of the house looking empty and broke in. My son was able to scare the person back out the front door, but the asshole junky decided to try and get in through the back door. I'm on my phone direct to our 911 center where we live (have a back door number to them due to my job). I'm keeping them and the police updated where the person is and where my son is. My son is now locked in our bedroom, wife giving him the combo to the handgun safe. Thank God we live in a small town and the police are really only seconds away. Police get to the house and the guy runs from my back porch when he sees them. I did not want my son to have to shoot someone but F#$K that SUCMBAG, you come in my house uninvited and someone is going to get a lot of lead poisoning! I can tell you it will not be my son, he a better shot then me. Thank goodness it did not get to that point. They searched for about an hour with the dog, sniffed the guy out through the back yards. He was caught and charged. The police were kind enough to let this person know that his life almost ended that night if it was not for them getting there when they did.
So back on the road we go trying to make it to NC. Had to stop a few times just to walk around and relax. I made it to NC with time to get a 30 min power nap, 10 min shower, and be 30 mins early for the interview. Interview went great!

My first contribution on this thread but I have been lurking. I am conflicted today. I FINALLY have an offer to buy my business. It is much less than the list price but not too far from my bottom line. It is just a really strange feeling to think I won't have to do what I have been doing for the last 38 years. Still lots of negotiating and then the hassle of transferring everything but even though it is some Thing I really want to do ,it is still strange.

Hell, I work sometimes more now, than before I semi-retired
but now it's all on my schedule, not someone else's...
It's strange to not go into a job {I work from home now},
still have issues sometimes with how to keep my body/mind active I'm 58...
