Super pi**ed off

Adam, the fun being that you drive what is one of only a handful of Bees in the UK. People must flip out when they see that bad *** machine on the motorway!

happened to me in my 65 skylark vert back in the day...the day i got it fixed, i was in my dd maxima and same thing happened...2 friggin' windshields in 1 week

Luckily it was only a rock and not a paving stone. I was driving on the highway with my 2yo daughter in the back seat, and a huge rock, 8 inches across, fell out of a truck in front and hit my windshield. Luckily it bounced off and left a nasty crack instead of shattering the screen and causing death and destruction. Insurance paid for the screen to be replaced.

If the scene had been recorded:

Rock hits truck windshield. CRACK!

Me: "Holy ****!"
2 year old: "Daddy! A rock hit our windshield!"
Me: "I KNOW! ******* it! What the hell?"
2yo: "Daddy! Why did a rock hit our windshield?"
Me: 'I DON'T KNOW! ARGH!"
2yo: (laughing) "What the hell! ******* it! Hee hee!"

Now that's funny:laughing4: Kids do say the funniest stuff

Here in the Western US it's a way of life, I feel your pain.
We also refer to a Swear Jar as a Cuss Can. Keep it light. It's just a windshield.

The week after I bought my Dakota, I got a stone chip in the windshield...

REALLY PISSED me off.

That was at 32,000 miles.

Never got it fixed and now at 139,000.

We're finally having a spell of decent weather here at last. So thought I'd get the car all cleaned and polished and head off to the local car meet. I like to keep a bit of distance between me and the car in front but a ****ing delivery van had other ideas and pulled right in front of me a generously decided to flick a stone into my windshield leaving me a lovely chip right in my view. I know sh*t like that can't be helped but how to ruin an evening in less than a second.
Lucky I didn't have the swear jar with me or it could have cost me a small fortune.
Hopefully it can be repaired and filled like the commercials on TV advertise.
Anyone had that glass injection repair stuff used on their cars? Is it any good? Or am I looking at a new screen?
You have a cool car, you're driving it on the road... **** happens. You may have a crap car, you drive it on the road...**** happens.

Off-topic, but last year, I was behind this 48-wheel steel-hauling truck on the freeway. I was on my bike. He kicked-up a flattened paint-can! This spinning blade of death came at me at eye-level, and just barely nicked the windscreen on the bike as I ducked behind it!

Thats not the way to start a day off and im sorry to hear of it.. To answer your question, i wasn't paying attention when picking up tools one long afternoon turned evening working on my 73 and put my air sander down on the car and hit the windshield with the air connection fitting putting a nice round chip in it with 4 spider cracks coming from it, being i thought for sure i would need a windshield, i called a local company and explained my "dum" for the day before and he said they could possibly repair it with some kind of glue injected in it with an air pressure of 40 pd i think it was, He said those spider cracks could head on out and it was a chance id have to take but if that happened i got the 65 bucks taken off a new windshield (price for the job, at my house), long story short is its still there and no problem almost 3 year ago... Im not saying do it but... Good luck.

I feel your pain. Last summer I was putting in a windshield in my p/u that I got from a J/Y. Just about had the whole windshield in the gasket, and what happens........CCRRRRAAAAAACCCCKKKKKKKKK. From top to bottom on the passenger side. At least it's not going anywhere and iowa is pretty lenient as long as it's not in your line of vision.

Sounds like I'm not the only one who's been in this situation. Suppose what it really boils down to for me is the fact that getting replacement parts for these cars is hard enough but even harder when you have to get everything shipped over to you. But if that's the price I gotta pay for driving what I'd like to say is my dream car, then I guess it's a small price to pay. And I'm not gonna let the small stuff discourage me from driving her.
