Super Stock spring question

You know its funny but I remember a 63 Hot Rod mag I have where they tested a 63 Plymout Max Wedge. And I remember them saying one thing they did was remove the platsic inserts between the springs ?? Funny as I dont remember ever hearing of anyone else doing it. Ron

I wonder why some of the right side springs don't have them but the lefts do ? both my 002/003's have them, 457 had them but 456 does not .. wouldn't bother me if it didn't make so much damn noise !

I have a 456 that does not have them and another spring that I was told was probably a 457 but no number and no plastic pieces or drilled for them. How can I tell what spring I have?

457 has 6 leafs, 456 has 8 ... there will be a stamped P/N on the bottom of the spring near the centering pin

There is not a stamped number and it has 7 leafs but maybe someone has added one.
