Tall max wedge hood scoop

Ok fellas here’s the deal my 63 Savoy currently has a tall hemi hood scoop that I’m ok with but to be honest I like the tall max wedge scoop better I would appreciate if anyone can post pictures of their cars with this type scoop and who manufacture it and where I can one from thanks

VFN and Glasstek both make tall Max Wedge scoops. They require some trimming to get the look right. Most that I have seen are level front to back. They need some taper added in my opinion.

So then change the engineIt's become PC to put a 3rd gen in,boosted of course

Just thought about it.Get another hood with the scoop you want,then you hang that on the wall or sell it.

Wondering what is under the hood. Does it need a tall scoop in order to run air cleaners?

It had a hemi before but I don’t know if it had a cross ram or inline 4s a 512 wedge will reside in it shortly

A real nice 63. Depending on the intake you run, spacer, air filter, space can be an issue.

IMHO, the Max Wedge style looks better on those cars than the '68 Hemi style. It's all in what YOU prefer. Then find the the scoop height that matches your intake.

I've got a hood scoop question too. It is on tall verses short hood scoops.

Does or can changing air scoop size or shape effect carb jetting? Or even no scoop verses adding a scoop.

I know that my front carb is close to the scoop. When I first added stub stacks it got close enough that it slowed it down. Since then the front stub stack was trimmed. I've talked to guys running in F.A.S.T. with stock style cross rams that say the car is faster mph without the scoop. I've wondered about plugging the front of the scoop off and pulling air through the inner headlamps like a T Bolt? The scoop has to stay because of height restrictions.

I bet pulling air from the inner headlights would help.
I've been checking old posts from several sites on scoops, carb sealing to hood, etc. I sure have come across lots of guys with sealed carbs on forward facing scoops that had problems with consistency and going flat.
Last season with my car and my dominator sealed tight to the hood I sure had problems with the car laying over when up in RPMs in 2nd and into high. And thinking back, it all started when I switched back to the hemi scoop and sealed the carb tight to the hood. And my darned car could/would change with the wind. Something I will be concentrating on this season.
